The parts comes in a regular PN clear plastic bag.
Arms, pins wth hex head, caster adjusting shims, and black delrin balls.
Mounting them are straighforward.
Remove C clip, springs, washers etc.
Loosen your old pins.
Remove the stock arms.
Now mount the new arms.
Installing the shims is a bit tricky, buti f you are used to the PN double A-arm shimming you know what to do.
One shim on either side of the arm, you will get 0,9 degree caster
Two shims in front equals 0 degree caster (stock setting)
Two shims in the back equals 1,8 degree caster.
The new pins with hex heads are nice. You can use your favourite hex tool on these.
The delrin balls are nice, but are 0,6mm lower than the stock kyosho ones.
This is ok, and gives you a bit more room to play with roll center etc.
The arms looks to be of the usual good PN quality.
One thing with the pins, is that they do not fit the Atomic alu upper brace. They are to big.
The stock kyosho ones have the same threads, so if you wich to use these together you have to stick with those.
EDIT: It was only one of the pins that were to big. The difference was 0,02mm. When I polished it the problem was gone.
They come with static camber. You have to buy the camber you need. I choose 1 degree camber.
This set removes a lot of slop in the front end when you use the stock mounting in the servo gear cover.
When coupled with the Atomic alu brace, the feel is exactely the same. No more or no less slop.
If your goal is to remove the slop in the front end, you can also use the Atomic alu brace.
If you need camber and adjustable caster, you go with these arms, or both.
The adjustable caster really makes a difference. If you have used the WTF2 on the MR-02, you know what caster does to your car. Caster is an important tuning option, and will help you on your way to the perfect setup.
Track test:
The tire wear improved, as I finally got the static camber I needed.
The adjustable caster helped me get a little more front end grip in the middle of the corner, and the car also tracks straighter with added caster.
If these arms were available in plastic or delrin, this would be better. These arms add some unsprung weight, witch you dont want, but the adjustable caster and added static camber makes up for this.
It has been a lot of talk regarding flexing arms, but this is really no problem if you try the Atomic alu brace. The flexing is more in the mounting holes, than in the arms themself. Especially if you use the Reflex Racing kingpins and springs on top.
The best result came when I used them together with the ATM alu brace. I really like the feel of the car when everything is tight and witout slop. The car gets so predictable.
Adjustable caster and static camber is the only reason why I would consider this arms. If you modify the stock arms to be able to shim them with 2 - 4 degrees caster, that would be the better option because of the unsprung weight.
